LUDAN Environmental Technologies:
Advanced Solutions For Environmental Problems

In the last decade, solving environmental problems has become increasingly complex and demanding. These problems include: wastewater, which can contaminate water sources, soil and underground water pollution from fuels and hazardous wastes, air pollution caused by emissions from industry and transportation, among others.

Along with this rise in complexity, environmental standards have become more demanding due to environmental legislation calling for the implementation of stricter  penalties and additional constraints by the authorities.

AquaPure was founded in 2002 under the auspices of the Israeli Ministry of Industry and Trade in the Meytag Technological Incubator, Katzrin, Israel. AquaPure 's technology is based on over 10 years of research in the area of water and wastewater treatment. The company offers a cost-effective water-treatment solution, providing effective removal of water contaminants such as MTBE and TCE. The technology is safe for both users and the environment.

AquaPure's  mission is to play a pivotal role in the water and wastewater-treatment industry. The company offers an ozone-hydrogen peroxide-UV In-Situ Advanced Oxidation Process (AOP) as a water-treatment solution, allowing for effective purification of water contaminants. The company plans to start up a number of pilot sites for the treatment of MTBE, which will begin generating revenues in the third quarter of 2008.

Lextran Ltd.   was founded in 1997, within the framework of the Katzrin Technological Incubator in the north of Israel.

Lextran  is determined to establish itself as a world leader in its field, with a technology that is designed to reduce sulfur dioxide (SO2), nitrogen oxides (NOx), mercury and other heavy metals emitted by power plants and industrial installations that burn coal or heavy fuels. These substances, emitted from the burning fuels, are an ecological nuisance of the highest degree. All of the environmental protection enforcement agencies have set very strict standards to prevent their discharge into the atmosphere.

Lextran pioneered the single-step, simultaneous removal of SO2, NOx, mercury and other heavy metals emitted by combustion installations. Privately held, Lextran is 28% owned by the Ludan Environmental Group.

Lextran's patented technology introduces a unique, three-in-one approach to reducing SO2, NOx and mercury emissions, employing Lextran's patented organic liquid catalyst. The simple, multi-pollutant process requires minimum equipment and only liquid reagents, as well as a relatively small footprint, and is considerably less costly in terms of investment and operation than technologies that treat each pollutant separately.

Lextran's technology either meets or substantially exceeds all international regulatory requirements, including almost complete removal of SO2, mercury and other heavy metals, up to 60% removal of NOx and partial removal of particles. In addition, Lextran's process yields valuable, commercial-grade fertilizer as a byproduct.
